THE GLOBAL SAMARITANS

Today, The Global Samaritans is being built around a simple commitment: bring people, resources, and organizations together to identify genuine needs, mobilize practical support, and deliver compassionate assistance. The movement aims to connect people who want to help with meaningful opportunities to make a difference, while respecting the dignity, choices, and circumstances of the people and communities receiving support.

Our work can include humanitarian campaigns, community partnerships, volunteering, collective giving, and initiatives that address barriers to education, strengthen

community care, or respond to other needs as resources and trusted partnerships allow. The specific response should reflect the real situation, the priorities of the people affected, and the support that can responsibly be provided.

The Global Samaritans does not claim that one organization can replace families, professional care, local organizations, public services, or governments. Instead, we seek to encourage collaboration and help close the distance between people who need support and people who can contribute time, skills, resources, connections, or practical assistance. Our origin is connected to the Ssese Islands,

Jjajja Magatto’s example, Richard’s journey, and the communities that helped shape his understanding of compassion. But the movement is larger than any one person or place. Its future belongs to people everywhere who believe that human dignity matters and that no one should be forgotten when help is possible.

We invite individuals, families, volunteers, professionals, community groups, organizations, and donors to become part of this shared effort. Together, we can help make compassion practical and help more people face difficult moments with support, dignity, and hope.
